Mohammed Abdelkareem is from Sudan. He came to United States in 2009 and is currently taking english classes at the New American Center. He Has been volunteering at the BCCRD since the May of 2011.

Oksana Palenga
Volunteer Intern

Oksana was born in Lviv, Ukraine, where she attended Lviv National University and obtained a Bachelor and a Master Degree in Foreign Languages (English and German). From 2006 to 2008 she worked at the Austrian Embassy Commercial Department as a Marketing Officer. In 2008 she moved to the United States, and the following year she matriculated at Suffolk University, specializing in International Affairs. Now Oksana enjoys interning at the New American Center, in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Intern

Kelsey is a senior at Salem State University, where she majors in Political Science, Economics, and History. Her work primarily focuses on issues of gender and national identity in India and Pakistan. In 2010 she established a student chapter of Amnesty International and is heavily involved in global clean water efforts through Rotaract/Rotary International

Asim Kustura
Events Coordinator

Asim comes from Visegrad, a historical town in eastern Bosnia. During the war in the country, during the 1990s, Asim lived in the Czech Republic and in Germany. In 1999 he moved to the United States, first living in Connecticut and finally resettling in Massachusetts. One of the pioneers of BCCRD's Heritage program Boston Sevdah, Asim is currently working as an Events Coordinator at the organization.
